Welcome to our community centre! Our offices are manned every weekday from 9am-1pm, with our doors open to the public between 10.30am-12.30pm. The kettle is always on for anyone who’d like to drop in. We run two coffee mornings each week, from 10am to 1pm: • Mondays – enjoy a craft activity while you chat over a cuppa. • Wednesdays – a relaxed space to meet and connect with others. Refreshments are free, and we also serve cuppa soup and a roll for a 50p donation. On Fridays from 1-2.30pm, we run Growing Together – a friendly group for young parents and their little ones. It’s safe space where children can play and the parents can support one another. Our Rooted youth group meets on Friday evenings, usually every other week. It’s a fun social time with activities, trips, games and conversation for secondary-aged young people. Visit our website for the latest dates and details. The Lord’s Larder, Chard’s local food bank, is administrated and distributed from the centre. Food bags are available for collection Mon-Fri, 10.30am-12.30pm. While the project mainly works on a referral-only basis, we can offer a limited number of self-referral food bags. If you’re at all worried about food insecurity or struggling with finances, please come in and talk to us — we’re here to help. The centre also hosts the following services: Tuesdays – Somerset Drug and Alcohol Services, 9.30am-4.30pm – Citizens Advice (appointment only) Wednesdays – Citizens Advice drop-in, 10am-1pm Thursdays – Liver Health Check, 10.30am-2.30pm We have rooms available to rent – especially for anyone who shares our focus on serving the community.
